Vest.
Vests may not seem very punk rock before they’ve seen the hands of the punk him or herself, but, they’re definitely a staple. If you aren’t a fan of a plain vest, get some fabric paint and unleash your inner creativity, sew on some patches, or use some spikes to roughen up the look.


Spikes.
Spikes, studs, anything metal that can be easily attached to the outfit are a definite staple in punk fashion. While they may seem a little abrasive at first, they definitely create interest on most punk accessories.


Chains.
Chains are extremely useful with punk fashion, they can be worn as belts, dangle at your hip, or can be used as jewelry. They help to once again create a rough edge to the punk rock outfit.


Jewelry.
Jewelry may seem overrated for punks, but, more often than not you’re going to see them wearing leather or spiked wrist cuffs, plugs in their ears, body jewelry, skull necklaces, or an array of other jewelry accessories that help to create a cohesive look.

Vinyl.
Alternative materials such as vinyl lend themselves well to punk fashion, especially for female punks who want to wear something a little more feminine with a bite to it.


Leather.
Leather can be found in almost all aspects of a punk outfit, from accessories to jackets or boots, leather is by far one of the biggest staple materials you will find.


Band T-shirts.
Sporting band T-shirts is definitely key to punks, especially when they’re supporting their favorite bands. While they may not always wear them true to their nature, and may create something a little more DIY from their band T-shirts, they’re a major component to punk fashion.


Pants.
While jeans and pants can be argued as the same thing, that couldn’t be further from the truth. While jeans are a form of pant, they are their own entity. Punk pants usually refer to do it yourself pants or Franken pants. They’re stitched together from parts of pants long past, creating a visually interesting look.


Skirts.
Skirts, especially for the female punks, are a definite staple for punk rock culture. Whether they’re short or tight, there are several different shapes of edgy skirts to flatter just about any body type out there. Remember, anything can be made to have that punk rock edge to it, don’t shy away from a skirt because it doesn’t first scream “punk”, and make it that way.


Comfortable shoes.
Comfort is key with punk fashion, unless you are talking about accessories or the weight of metal. While you may be weighted down by spikes and patches, you’re going to want to have something comfortable to wear on your feet. Breaking in a new pair of shoes is great, but the grungier and well loved they look, the better.


Wristbands.
Wrist bands, whether they be thin strips or thick chunky wrist bands are a bold fashion statement for punks. They can either be useful such as a thick leather strapped watch or more decorative like a spiked wristband. They are definitely an eye-catching accessory commonly found worn by lovers of punk rock.


Fishnets. 
Predominantly worn by the women, fishnets are a great staple punk rock clothing item. They can be worn by men or women, and are often times seen at live shows because they promote staying cool while in the midst of the pit.

I always wanted my blog to be something more than an ordinary fashion blog. I want to really inspire people and help them grow, and maybe one day share my journey. But for now, it's not really possible since I don't have enough time to devote to writing. Luckily, I have great guests such as Tracey Clayton, who's willing to share some words of advice with you, this time on how to be cool and confident:

Ok, since you’ve already browsed the internet hoping to find tutorials that will help you become cool and confident, it’s clear you need to do some soul searching which will help you understand you are all that but you simply don’t know it yet!

The socially accepted and preferred modules of behavior considered “cool” and “confident” support various (fashion) movements, all depending on the current celebrity climate and trend endorsements. This is why you need to work on building your own style that’ll be timeless, and that will make you feel good regardless of the popular buzz.

What do I do to get in a place where I am okay with who I am?

It may sound a bit corny but, once you become comfortable with who you are, only good things will come your way. The way we feel about ourselves is the energy we send onto the world and it’s ultimately the way people feel (about) us.

Figuring out who you are is a never-ending journey but setting basis of your personality is the key. Think about what you inherently like, dislike, what feels good, what doesn’t… Think about a person you want to become, what you’d want your life to turn into and work towards achieving it. We are all easy to fall under other people’s influences and waste years thinking we are enjoying something when, actually, we are personally so far from it.

For instance, you’ve got a friend who is popular and, to make him like you, you pretend you like all the same things they do. However, once you realize you can have your own voice and love what you love without having to apologize for it to anyone. You’ll quickly become confident and break loose of all the meaningless relationships around you, consequently finding people that are actually your match. And, most importantly – you’ll be at peace with yourself.

What’s the trick to keep things cool?

There’s nothing cooler than being comfortable in your own skin or working towards becoming the person you want to be. Your personality and tastes are an entire universe of possibilities, so explore them! Build your fashion sense, your music preferences, your science interests, your movie likes – everything! You’ll quickly get in a place where you can say “I know who I am, therefore – I am cool”.

What never hurts is to find that one piece of accessorize/interest that will single you out from the rest. Whether those are the amazing pair of Dragon sunglasses that support your newfound
edgy style, wearing that orient-inspired leather choker or doing yoga in the park every morning at 5AM – it’s entirely up to you.

What if nobody accepts me for who I am?

Oh, darling – fright not! The worst case scenario is that you won’t be spending time with the “popular crowd” but that doesn’t mean you are worse than them; it only means you’ve found your inner voice that challenges the mundane and rises beyond the known and usual. In time, you will learn that all of your traits will be celebrated by people who actually understand, love and support them. And until that happens – stay your amazing self, keep working on figuring out your persona and love the beautiful journey ahead of you.

Is there a formula to staying confident and cool forever?

Yes, absolutely. The formula is loving yourself for everything that you are. Simple as that. Fact is – we are all more critical towards ourselves than others are and we tend to put ourselves down for no apparent reason. Rise above that and learn to be the person you’d want to be hanging with. Channel your thoughts and, until you finally believe it – keep repeating this to yourself – you are amazing, you are beautiful, you are worthy.

You can also find this phenomenon in Iceland, but for us the Swedish Lapland is the more scenic of the two. It is hard to beat its beautiful trails through the forest, and the fabulous view from the top of the mountain. The sun hardly sets there in between May and July.

But, nothing worthwhile in life is easy. Even during the summer months it can get cold and if you actually want to camp on the mountain top, we would recommend that you take the best Backcountry gear with you to stay comfortable. But, even before you do that you have to pack it right. The easiest way is to start by making a list of items you will need. Then select the right backpack. It has to be comfortable, lightweight, and still be able to carry all your things. Make a separate list of things that you will carry in your backpack on the hike.

After trying those, I ditched every single brush I have.

Which style should you choose?
If you like boho-inspired looks and hairstyle, go for the modern milkmaid braids. Make loose fishtail braids from the both sides and pull those over your head creating a hair band. Pull out a couple of strands to frame your phase so as to look relaxed. This look will be massive for hitting the forthcoming festivals. Wear it with statement boho necklaces and lots of wristbands.

If you feel like prepping your hair for a smart occasion then make a lot of small braids which you will combine into a sleek larger one. Your face will be in the spotlight so be sure to have a radiant lipstick and statement earrings to enhance your beauty.
